Flaming arrows 2016

Preparing to attackDue to popular demand, we ran another evening of siege warfare. This time we were joined by our friends from 5th Gosport, who were interested to learn about laying siege to a castle. Read what Hilary had to say about the event below:

It's that time of year for flaming arrows and this time Allan & Nathan brought a dozen 5th Gosport Sea Scouts who were keen to join in the fun. No-one was put off by the drizzle and after a little revision on their tripod lashings and frapping turns the mixed scout teams efficiently built 12 astonishing firing mechanisms and lined them up to fire across to the Castle. Once everyone had a chance to let fly their arrows there was just time to dismantle the tripods and enjoy some doughnuts before it was time to go home.
