Remembrance Day 2015

This post was written by Rhiannon about Remembrance Day:

On Sunday the 8th November I visited my old Scout Troop (1st Crownhill Scouts) to take part in the Remembrance Sunday parade. I was the only Sea Scout there! All the Scouts met up at the memorial just outside St Mary's church. During the service a bugler played the last post then the two minute silence took place, he then played the second part. Scouts and public were then allowed to lay their wreaths, whilst the flag bearers lowered the flags. The service then moved on into the church. Scouts led all of the public into the church whilst the members of St Mary's gave out hymn books to every one in the church. Once everyone was seated, stories were told and hymns were sung by the vicar and Scouts. Another two minute silence was held. The service then finished and all of the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorer Scouts had a picture taken at the alter.

It was really fun to meet up with my old Scout troop and take part in the ceremony.

A Scout belongs to the world wide family of Scouts!
