![]() While being in the water is not a strange experience for many of our Scouts, twelve of them decided to try breathing under water. Luckily Southsea Sub-Aqua Club (SSAC) were there to lend a hand and before the Scouts attempted to breath underwater they were all provided with Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus (SCUBA), along with an individual briefing from their own personal instructor. They then each spent the next 15-20 minutes underwater and some even ventured to the bottom of the deep end. This was some of the most peaceful 15-20 minutes that I have had as a Leader in Scouts, as while they could breath underwater they could not talk! Every single Scout did amazingly well and each of them had the biggest smile you could imagine after spending a short amount of time experiencing what it might be like to be a mermaid/merman. Some were even asking questions to SSAC about how they could experience more. |
